LTU were asked to partake in an ambitious radar survey by GSB Prospection Ltd as part of the Time Team series to re-discover part of the roman town, by targeting what was believed to be the location of a Roman Mansio (In today’s terms, a “Travel Inn”).
Survey companies and contractors are now able to carry out underground surveys on the railways, using a GPR system which has been approved specifically for 'trackside' use, by Network Rail.
