HV Cable Identification - C175
The unit comprises two parts namely the Transmitter and Receiver
The Transmitter generates a sine wave with a frequency of 625Hz. This signal is connected to two cores of the cable to be identified, which will be isolated & terminated in accordance with Electricity Company guidance or regulations.
The receiver receives the transmitted signal all along the cable to be identified through a suitable close proximity pick-up coil, detecting the rise & fall of the signal ("lay or twist effect").
The unit will clearly identify one cable from a bundle using both audible and visual methods.
